Florence + The Machine are an english indie rock band that rolling stone describes as “dark, robust, and romantic.”
The object of this project was to create a 12-inch lp record cover that accurately represented the band and the mythical, ethereal sound that they create. I started with a rich green to symbolize the renewal and growth that the album represents and that is cohesive with the soothing ambiance that the music creates. As a highlighting color, I chose a green-yellow, which could also be foiled for limited releases. The main artwork is an illustration of a hare that I drew, that references numerous Florence + The Machine songs and in british folklore signifies rebirth. The smaller sketched-out illustrations are from Florence Welch, the lead singer, and cohesively links the typography and provides balance.
This was a student project that was created during my time at ECUAD/BCIT.
